Description
INVBIO saliva alcohol test kit detects the presence of alcohol in saliva. Therefore, immersing the strip directly in alcohol alone will not provide an accurate reading.
It is very important that the test is read at exactly two minutes. The result you read 2 minutes after saturation with saliva is the accurate test result.
Nothing should be placed in the subject's mouth for at least 10 minutes prior to collecting saliva. This includes food, drinks, tobacco products or other materials.
SAMPLE COLLECTION AND PREPARATION
Nothing should be placed in the subject's mouth for at least 10 minutes prior to collecting saliva. This includes food, drinks, tobacco products or other materials.
The saliva sample can be collected in a sputum cup or clean container, or applied directly to the test strip reaction pad.
PROCEDURE:
Open the foil pouch and remove the test strip.
Saturate the reactive pad by submerging the reaction pad in the saliva sample collected in a cup, or saturate the reactive pad at the end of the stick with saliva in the mouth for 10 seconds, shaking off excess.
Start the timer immediately and after exactly 2 minutes compare the reactive pad with the supplied colored card.
Results after more than 2 minutes may not be accurate.
INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS:
Negative: Almost no color change from the background. The negative result indicates that the BAC is less than 0.02%.
Positive: A bright color developed all over the pillow. The positive result indicates that the BAC is 0.02% or higher.
Invalid: The test should be considered invalid if only the edge of the reactive pad is discolored, which can be attributed to insufficient sampling.
