ACTH
Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) test is used to help detect, diagnose, and monitor conditions associated with excessive or deficient cortisol in the body, which may include; cushing disease, cushing syndrome, addison disease, secondary adrenal insufficiency, and hypopituitarism.
Measuring both ACTH and cortisol can help differentiate among such conditions as ACTH levels may change in opposite to the level of cortisol.
