Rat MMP-3(Matrix Metalloproteinase 3) Introduciton

Stromelysin-1 also known as matrix metalloproteinase-3 (MMP-3) is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the MMP3 gene. The MMP3 gene is part of a cluster of MMP genes which localize to chromosome 11q22.3. MMP-3 has an estimated molecular weight of 54 kDa. MMP3 itself can enter in nuclei of cells and regulate target gene such as CTGF/CCN2 gene. Most members of the MMP family are organized into three basic, distinctive, and well-conserved domains based on structural considerations: an amino-terminal propeptide; a catalytic domain; and a hemopexin-like domain at the carboxy-terminal. 

Rat MMP-3(Matrix Metalloproteinase 3) ELISA Kit Test method

This kit uses sandwich ELISA to detect the concentration of Rat MMP-3.

Rat MMP-3-specific monoclonal antibody has been pre-coated in the wells of the supplied microplate. Standards samples and controls are added to interact with the immobilized antibody. A sandwich complex is formed by additional anti-Rat MMP-3 antibody with HRP-Streptavidin. TMB solution is added to react with the sandwich for ming optical signal measured by microplate reader. The concentration of Rat MMP-3 in the sample can be calculated by comparing the absorbance of the sample with the standard curve.
