Description

Human EGF(Epidermal Growth Factor) Introduction

EGF is a protein that stimulates cell growth and differentiation by binding to its receptor, EGFR. Human EGF is 6-kDa and has 53 amino acid residues and three intramolecular disulfide bonds.EGF was originally described as a secreted peptide found in the submaxillary glands of mice and in human urine. EGF has since been found in many human tissues, including submandibular gland (submaxillary gland),  and parotid gland. Initially, human EGF was known as urogastrone.

Human EGF(Epidermal Growth Factor) ELISA Kit Test Method

This kit uses sandwich ELISA to detect the concentration of Human EGF.

Human EGF-specific monoclonal antibody has been pre-coated in the wells of the supplied microplate.Standards samples and controls are added to interact with the immobilized antibody. A sandwich complex is formed by additional anti-human EGF antibody with HRP-Streptavidin.TMB solution is added to react with the sandwich forming optical signal measured by microplate reader. The concentration of human EGF in the sample can be calculated by comparing the absorbance of the sample with the standard curve.
