Human IL-17A(Interleukin 17 A) Introduction

IL-17A is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IL17A gene. In rodents, IL-17A used to be referred to as CTLA8, after the similarity with a viral gene (O40633). The protein encoded by this gene is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated T cells. This cytokine regulates the activities of NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinases. This cytokine can stimulate the expression of IL6 and cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX-2), as well as enhance the production of nitric oxide (NO). High levels of this cytokine are associated with several chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and multiple sclerosis. IL-17A, often referred to as IL-17, was originally discovered at transcriptional level by Rouvier et al.

Human IL-17A(Interleukin 17 A) ELISA Kit Test Method

This kit uses sandwich ELISA to detect the concentration of Human IL-17A.

Human IL-17A-specific monoclonal antibody has been pre-coated in the wells of the supplied microplate. Standards samples and controls are added to interact with the immobilized antibody. A sandwich complex is formed by additional anti-Human IL-17A antibody with HRP-Streptavidin. TMB solution is added to react with the sandwich for ming optical signal measured by microplate reader. The concentration of Human IL-17A  in the sample can be calculated by comparing the absorbance of the sample with the standard curve.
