Human IGFBP-7(Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 7) Introduction

IGFBP-7 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IGFBP7 gene. The major function of the protein is the regulation of availability of insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) in tissue as well as in modulating IGF binding to its receptors. IGFBP7 binds to IGF with high affinity. It also stimulates cell adhesion. The protein is implicated in some cancers. The edited region contains a proposed heparin binding site and is also part of the recognition sequence for proteolytic cleavage. Heparin binding inhibits cell binding and cell adhesion functions of the protein. Cleavage which occurs at amino acid position 97 reduces heparin binding but modulates the growth stimulatory activity of the protein. 

Human IGFBP-7(Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 7) ELISA Kit Test Method

This kit uses sandwich ELISA to detect the concentration of Human IGFBP-7.

Human IGFBP-7-specific monoclonal antibody has been pre-coated in the wells of the supplied microplate. Standards samples and controls are added to interact with the immobilized antibody. A sandwich complex is formed by additional anti-Human IGFBP-7 antibody with HRP-Streptavidin. TMB solution is added to react with the sandwich for ming optical signal measured by microplate reader. The concentRabbition of Human IGFBP-7 in the sample can be calculated by comparing the absorbance of the sample with the standard curve.
